Philadelphia Eagles Win Super Bowl LIX
In a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in a 40-22 win on Sunday in New Orleans and denied KC the three-peat. Jalen Hurts had 221 passing and 72 rushing yards, throwing two TDs and rushing for a third, earning him the MVP title. Patrick Mahomes and the Chief’s offense struggled, throwing a pick 6 to rookie Cooper DeJean and had six sacks allowed.
Jalen Hurts beat his previous record for most rushing yards by a QB (previous was 70) with a new record of 72 yds. Hurts is also the first QB to ever record 10+ passing and 10+ rushing touchdowns in a playoff career. Saquon Barkley broke the record for most rushing yards in a single season (including post season) with 2,504 yards.
This was the Eagles second Super Bowl win in franchise history (first was in 2018).
