Hello everyone! As we begin to wrap up the semester, we wanted to share the dates for our final few meetings/events of the year:


April 7th: General Meeting - The History of Analytics in HAR 419 from 6-7 pm

April 28th: General Meeting - Project Pitch Night

Career Advice with Andy Andres

Our club’s advisor Andy Andres will be joining us later this month to talk about his career path through sports and academia

Andy has degrees in Computer Science (AB, Brown), Physiology (MS, Harvard), and Nutritional Biochemistry and Physiology (PhD, Tufts)


He has held a variety of roles across disciplines, including Head Coach/Lead Instructor of The Science of Baseball Program at MIT, Master Lecturer at BU’s CGS, Visiting Lecturer at Tufts, Data Analyst for BaseballHQ.com, and Pitch Clock/Data caster at Fenway Park for the MLB. He has also won awards for his research on Tommy John surgery and pitch fx.

March Madness Tournaments

The NCAA Women’s and Men’s March Madness tournaments are down to their final four teams.

The Women’s Final Four kicks things off on April 4th with UConn vs UCLA and South Carolina vs Texas the women’s final is set to be held on April 6th

The Men’s Final Four will follow the women’s on April 5th with Florida vs Auburn and Duke vs Houston


NFL Mock Draft Simulator

ESPN Analytics Team has launched an NFL Draft Day Predictor Model that estimates the chance that every prospect is taken at each pick. ESPN will be using this model throughout the draft to assist on their broadcast.


BU Makes Frozen Four

Our very own Boston University Terriers Men’s hockey team has made it to the NCAA Frozen Four for the third year in a row. Jay Pandolfo between his four-year playing career at BU and three years as head coach has made it to the tournament every year. BU will be facing off on April 10th against Penn State, who will appear in the Frozen Four for the first time in program history
